As with all of our equipment, RIG possesses one of the most sophisticated flat glass laminating lines ever built. Our laminating capabilities are second to none in the world. Utilizing machinery custom designed and built in Germany, we have the ability to produce some of the most unique pieces of laminated glass in the world.
Laminated Glass consists of two or more layers of glass bonded together with a vast array of interlayers. Our laminated glass can be fabricated in sizes up to 130" x 240" and up to 4 1/2" in thickness utilizing any combination of products fabricated in house. These multiple layers of glass and interlayer are bonded using a process combining heat and pressure. Currently we laminate glass for a wide variety of applications including, but not limited to, hurricane resistance, bullet resistance, acoustical, safety glazing, overhead glazing, structural glazing, decorative glass and floors. We house a large inventory of interlayers from the standard PVB's thicknesses from 0.015" to .090" and several specialty interlayers including STC rated products, DuPont SentryGlas, Vanceva Colors, Vanceva Storm and Saflex HP.
All laminated glass with an interlayer over 0.030" meets the federal CPSC 16 CFR 1201 category I & II, as well as ANSI Z97.1 class A & B, and CAN/CGB512.1M category I & II.
